TechNisa is derived from the Arabic word which means "women". We're more than a hackathon though—we're a movement aiming to create inclusive spaces where Muslim women can thrive in technology.

TechNisa is open to all Muslim women interested in technology, regardless of their skill level. Whether you're a beginner learning to code or an experienced developer, you're welcome to join us!
Not at all! We welcome participants of all skill levels. We'll have workshops, mentors, and resources to help you learn and grow. The focus is on innovation, creativity, and community building.
Yes! TechNisa offers both in-person and virtual participation options. Virtual participants will have access to all workshops, mentorship sessions, and networking opportunities through our online platform.
No, you can register as an individual and we'll help you find a team during our team formation session. Alternatively, you can register with your own team of 2-4 members.
Absolutely! Prayer spaces will be designated at the venue, and it goes without saying that all meals provided will be halal. The schedule will include breaks for prayer.
We have prizes for multiple categories including Best Overall Project, Most Innovative Solution, Best Social Impact, and Best Beginner Project. The total prize pool is $25,000 along with mentorship opportunities and internship offers from our sponsors.
TechNisa is completely free to participate! This includes access to all workshops, meals, swag, and prizes. We want to ensure that financial barriers don't prevent anyone from joining our community.
Bring your laptop, chargers, and any other devices you need for development. Also bring your enthusiasm and willingness to learn! We'll provide food, drinks, swag, and all the tech resources you need.
